As most young Canadians, I grew up playing hockey and loving the sport. As a goalie, I was always interested in goalies of the past and especially the dawning and progression of the goalie mask. A couple years ago I started working on a project to paint some of these brave masked men.
MORE ABOUT MY WORK
I have been painting full-time for over 15 years and enjoy painting a variety of subject matter such as people, landscapes, wildlife, and urban scenes, which are displayed and sold in galleries across North America. You can see more of these paintings at www.jerrymarkham.com.
I also enjoy sports and grew up playing hockey and football in Alberta. That led to an interest to paint hockey scenes and players.
I currently live in the Okanagan valley of British Columbia with my wife Leah, who helps with every aspect of the business and is the voice on the other end of the phone. We work hard to make sure you are happy with your purchase.
If you are interested in a commission or working with us on a project, please contact us, we would love to hear from you.
HELPING KIDS IN SPORT
Participation in sports, especially hockey, can be costly for families. It is important to me to give back where I can through art, so a portion of all hockey proceeds are donated to charitable organizations and NHL team foundations that contribute to helping kids experience the positive benefits of organized sports through financial assistance, equipment, etc. If you are involved with an organization and would like a print to auction at your event, please contact us with details.
Recently I started working on a project to paint some of these brave masked men. I did a photo shoot with a skilled young goalie and some awesome replica masks I got from Tony at HockeyMasks.com in Vancouver. Here are a few photos from that shoot.
